This year has both flown by and crawled. There were days that I thought would never end, and weeks I barely remember.
In 2020, I wanted to stabilize my law practice, grow my workwear blog, and start a family. Those goals are no closer today than they were this time last year. But I am grateful for the essentials, for my family’s health, and for the hope that comes with every delivered vaccine.
To prepare for 2021, I’ve spent a few minutes every night before bed writing down my joys and sorrows from this year. It’s cathartic. And, when I’m done, I intend to burn them in our fire pit and let it all blow away with the embers.
Will you join me? Tonight, find a notepad and pen and write down a few things that you experienced this year, the good and the bad. Then, tomorrow, a few more. Salon visits are still iffy for many of us. I’m lucky that my hairdresser has been able to stay open for the past few months, but when I go to Montana, I’m on my own.

It also gives roots a little bit of camouflage (though not full coverage). So it can help extend the time between salon visits without looking like you missed an appointment.
No gym available? Don’t have room for equipment in your home? CNN has a five-move circuit that can work your whole body in less than 30-minutes. And I was so sore afterwards, I wished that I’d just gone to the gym.
Everyone’s emotions are up and down these days. If your inner tumult has you pushing ‘add to cart’ too frequently, don’t miss these helpful and realistic tips from The Everygirl for keeping your emotional shopping at bay.
I’m not a person who cares much about celebrities or famous people, but when I saw Jennifer Aniston wearing this face mask from Wolford, I pounced. These silk masks are so well-built and comfortable, they’re like a dream. They’re so good that you almost forget how much they cost. Almost.
I’ve cut back on my drinking recently so I could re-emphasize quality over quantity. A nice cocktail at the end of the week is a great way to start the weekend. And these recipes from Jamie Oliver — from Christmas Pudding Vodka to a Winter Sidecar — all look delightful.
