I took the month of May off because the post-session burnout was deep. So I wanted to take a few weeks to do a deep clean on my house, my closet, and my life. But now the vacation is over, and it’s time to get back to it.
After the year we’ve all had, I cannot recommend taking a little time off more highly. Even if it’s just a couple of days. Get away from your desk, your chores, and your responsibilities for a minute.
It wasn’t easy setting up a month off — I had to save and plan for it for a few months — but it was everything I hoped it would be and more.
Now, back to sending out resumes. And sending out this newsletter. Who’s ready to #BreakThings?
One Influencer Thing // Loop giveaways — where an influencer builds followers by offering a pricey giveaway item — are a source of consternation for many. And no one hosts more loop giveaways than the Kardashian clan, who have given away more Louis Vuitton than the Paris flagship has sold. But Vox is asking an important question: Who really wins these Instagram giveaways?
One Home Decor Thing // I like a clutter-free, clean look for my home. And the best way to achieve that style is to think of your home like a professional home stager would. Real Simple has the tips and tricks to give your home that barely lived in look.
One Workout Attire Thing // I have a favorite hiking short, but I was still looking for a comfortable gym short. And this CRZ Yoga pair are the best. The wide waistband, phone pocket, and breezy style are great.
One Cocktail Thing // Whether you’re making cocktails at home or ordering one at your favorite bar, these seven French cocktails from Conde Nast Traveler might give you something new to try. The L’Experience cocktail looks right up my alley.
One Last Thing // Basically me, every time someone compliments an outfit.
