How are you?
It’s such a simple question. But it can mean so much.
Today, a person who doesn’t know me very well took a moment to ask how I was because as they put it, I seemed off.
I was so genuinely touched by their question that I teared up a bit. I hadn’t anticipated a professional acquaintance to show me such kindness. And it cut deep into my soul.
We usually go through the world trying to project that we’re okay. And since we sell this lie so well during dark times, we choose to believe that if others are upright, they’re okay too. But right now, none of us are okay.
We’re all struggling. Some a lot. Some a little. But no one is operating at full or near-full capacity. And it’s so important that we acknowledge that, but it’s more important that we reach out to one another.
How are you?
Ask someone that question today, and ask it with sincerity. Not just as a throwaway, but for real.

For the author of this HuffPost article, her bullying impacted her whole life. So she grew up, and contacted the girls who bullied her. Their responses and reactions were incredibly enlightening, and the article is worth your time. Because even as adults, we still struggle to understand and empathize with each other.
I love this pearl pendant necklace from Shopbop. Whether it’s a white t-shirt or a great v-neck blouse, I think it would really jazz up a simple outfit.
This week, a 139-year old house in San Francisco was moved down the street to its new lot. How do you move an old house through a major city? Very slowly.
The pictures and story from the AP are amazing.
Cereal boxes apparently make great dominoes. A school in Michigan used 600+ boxes to raise food and funds for local people in need through a Cereal Box Dominoes challenge. The video is mesmerizing. Watching the awe on the kids’ faces was a lot of fun, especially at the end of a long day.
Stop reading my mind, Internet.
