This week, I have one goal: To get the newsletter done five days in a row.
Sure, it’s getting out a few hours late. Sure, I’m rushing to complete it in between meetings. But I prefer to think of this as 40% closer to my goal. Because, sometimes, when you’re digging yourself out of an emotional hole, the best thing to do is book a win to build future successes upon.
So let’s get this one in the books and break some things.
One Fashion Thing // The French Manicure is back. I’m not entirely sure how I feel about that, nor is anyone else who lived through the ‘90s. Which has me wondering: How did something that was once universally reviled make such a swift comeback?
One Food Thing // The BLT is my absolute favorite sandwich of all time. Joy the Baker offers her best tips for perfecting this American classic. Excuse me while I run for the store for bacon and tomatoes.
One Cocktail Thing // I love a good hostess and housewarming gift. This cut glass mixer and pitcher by West Elm looks great on a bar top and is a useful gift. And did I mention it costs under $15?
One Emotional Thing // NPR argues that joy is a learned skill, and that after a year spent in pandemic, we all need to relearn it. They offer tips and advice for learning joyfulness and practicing it in your daily life.
One Last Thing // Sometimes you don’t feel comfortable in a room because it wasn’t designed for your comfort. Don’t blame yourself.
