When the session ended, I fell straight into moving stress. When I got home last week, I fell straight into re-organizing and cleaning stress. So today is my first day where things are somewhat settled, and I am exhausted. But if there is one thing that I’ve learned about myself it’s this: I cannot take a real break.
I am useless to myself when I’m not working. My depression starts to take hold and then one week off turns into one month, and one month turns into an 18-month depressive episode. No, that will not do.
So I need to find a new job and quickly. Time to dust off my resume, snap up some letters of recommendation, and start looking.
Mother’s Day is complicated.
Some of us have lost our Moms. Some of us have no relationship with our Moms, or toxic relationships. And the rest of us are somewhere in between great and average on the Mom-relationship scale.
But I thought this Atlantic article on how to make Mom happier was informative for those of us who want to have a better relationship with our Moms. Because having a relationship with your parents as an adult is very different than having a relationship with them as a child.
These Chili + Honey Roasted Sweet Potatoes are a fantastic summer side dish. Also, if you have leftovers, I highly recommend cubbing them up, toasting them in the oven, and tossing them onto your lunch salads. They also go really well with pulled chicken; I recommend adding Mike’s Hot Honey.

I remember the Bill Clinton Impeachment scandal well. Or, at least, I thought I did. Turns out, I’d only ever heard one side of it. A side that wasn’t fair to Monica Lewinsky and nearly destroyed her life to protect a predatory President. Not cool.
On this episode of Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, Monica talks about her life, her work on anti-bullying, and what it’s like to be so famous for something that happened when you were 22. It’s worth your time.
