What is your favorite Christmas song?
Do you like the poppy sounds of Mariah Carey or the deep bass of Bing Crosby? Or perhaps you go full Midnight Mass with O Holy Night?
Whatever your favorite tune, tonight, at the end of your work day, I want you to take a moment to listen to it. Put in your headphones, blast it in your car, and really listen to it. Don’t worry about looking foolish singing along off key, just take a deep breath and give into it. Because in a year where the holiday spirit is elusive, maybe a few notes of your favorite holiday hit can help you find your cheer.
‘No’ is a complete sentence. But that doesn’t mean it’s easy to say.
We’re all being asked to take on more responsibility, more work, and more stress during this pandemic. And we need to learn to say ‘no’ to some of it.
Luckily, Career Contessa has templates that coach you through how to respond in the negative without being labeled a naysayer. Because the fear of saying ‘no’ isn’t in the not doing, it’s usually in how others will respond to your decision to bow out.
I have some leftover chicken in the fridge, so I’ll be making Camille Styles’ Easy Chicken Tortilla Soup for dinner tonight. This soup is a good base for all of the best things about tortilla soup, the fixins’. I like avocado slices, cilantro, loads of lime, and the Elote frito-style chips from Trader Joe’s.
What? I never said it was low calorie.
I’m wearing a lot of second and third day hair during the pandemic. Dry shampoo is my very best friend. But to give my hairdo a little something extra, I put together a list of fabulous barrettes and headbands to lift the look.
The Beatles were a staple in my house growing up. My Dad had a boxed set and played it on every trip.
So when Peter Jackson announced he would be using original footage to create a new Beatles documentary, I was stoked. Sadly, COVID postponed the completion and release of the film, but Jackson released a sneak peek for everyone who needed a bit of nostalgia in their holiday cheer.
Well, isn’t that interesting…
