Did you have snow days growing up?
In my entire childhood in Montana, we had only two. One my junior year of high school. And one glorious snow day when I was in first grade.
It was, in my six-year-old estimation, the perfect day. We slept til 8:30AM, then put on our snowsuits and went sledding on the big hill near the school. Everyone was there. It didn’t matter whether you were friends with someone or in the right clique, for one perfect day, all the kids were sharing sleds and pushing each other down the hill.
It’s one of my happiest childhood memories.
With the snow coming down at a good clip, maybe I’ll head to Ace to buy a sled. I have a feeling some things are still fun even in adulthood.

Need to brighten someone’s day? Wit & Delight has eight great ideas to bring a little joy to someone who needs it.
This year, I’d like to be more conscious about my eating and more disciplined in my exercise habits. I hope to lose a little weight and strengthen my body. But in a world that tells you the New Year is the only time to lose weight, remember that there’s a difference between caring for your body/health and changing your body to meet the expectations of others.
