How much do you carry with you?
I don’t mean in your purse. I mean emotionally.
At the end of the pandemic, I finally understand the weight of carrying things from your past. Past regrets. Past hurts. Past betrayals. Past embarrassments. And I’m having a hard time putting them down.
It feels almost like if I set them down, then I’m not honoring how much it hurt or how deeply it impacted me. But if I carry it around, then I’m weighing down my future with my past.
Long story short, I’m realizing that it is time to head back to therapy. Because the bag of bricks is feeling a little heavy again.
