It is so important that we take care of ourselves first. Burnout is avoidable.
Last night, I sat down to work for a few more hours before bed and I hit a wall. Normally, I would push through, have a soda or a Jolly Rancher to wake me up, and then dive right back in. But last night, I decided to call it.
I needed sleep. I needed a puppy snuggle. I needed to put my health first.
Today is easier as a result. Tomorrow will be easier as a result. If I hadn’t, everything this week would just have gotten harder.
So give yourself permission to rest. That’s the theme of this week.
