Thirtyish, Our One Year Anniversary
From the Desk of Your Editrix
Hello, to everyone who has subscribed to Thirtyish over the past twelve months. And what a twelve-months it has been.
If you are receiving this e-mail, and you are signed up for a free subscription, please know that our free daily newsletter now goes out from a different Substack account. You can find the #breakthings newsletter here, if you are not already subscribed.
I made this change mid-year because several of the paid Thirtyish subscribers did not want to continue receiving the daily newsletter, and it was the only way to accommodate that change. If you would like to receive the pay-wall’ed weekly newsletter, please subscribe below.
Our podcast is making progress. I bought all of the equipment in November and started practicing over the holidays. All of the podcasters I asked for advice basically had the same tip: Record a few episodes, send them to a test audience, work the format, then throw them the hell away. The episodes are improving under this test-and-toss model, and we’re on track to launch the podcast version of Mask Mondays this winter. (You can find past Instagram content, here.)
As for other newsletter products, Work Wednesday is on pause right now. I started a new job in December and I find that I just don’t have much wisdom to give on the topic right now. But I am hoping to begin again as I get my sea legs back and stop feeling the fears and trepidations of my early-20s all over again. (If only I had that 20-something metabolism to go with them…)
As we move forward growing this community, remember that the Facebook group is always there for thoughtful advice on topics big and small. And if you know someone who might enjoy this community, please forward them a copy of The Sunday Best.
I hope you all are having a wonderful start to the New Year. And if that energy hasn’t found you yet, know that every day is a chance to begin again.
